Natural Family Portrait Photography in Penshurst
I met this lovely family over 4 years ago when we bought their house from them! Clearly we have similar taste and it was brilliant to work with a family so similar to my own. I knew that they loved beautiful things, but I also understood that they weren’t a fan of anything too cringey. I approached this session like I do with most and we just went for a walk. After multiple lockdowns and restrictions, we’re all have quite a portfolio of walks to choose from, but Penshurst was one that stuck out to me. Kids need space to roam if you want them to enjoy being photographed. I thought of the beautiful tree that had gracefully fallen with a view of Penshurst Place. It makes a great climbing frame and leads on to some very picturesque fields. The boys of the family and been here recently too, which is always a bonus when a location is familiar for children.
We were so lucky to have beautiful weather that afternoon. We got a little windswept at times, but beggars can’t be choosers. We had such a wet spring here, that any day when it isn’t raining feels like a blessing. The wind made for some beautiful photographs with the kids playing with Dandelions.
Big thanks to this lovely family for inviting me to photograph them. It’s always a privilege to learn more about who i’m photographing and to hear their stories.
I have a busy summer ahead with Wedding Photography, but if you would like a family portrait session, I am sure I can squeeze you in somewhere.
